On Tuesday October 9th, 2018 at approximately 3:45 PM, Nevada Highway Patrol Troopers responded to a single vehicle rollover crash on US-95 at mile marker 36 in Mineral County (approximately 15 miles south of Hawthorne).
Preliminary investigation shows that a green 2000 Suzuki Grand Vitara SUV was traveling southbound on US-95 near the town of Luning.
The driver of the Suzuki failed to negotiate a left curve in the roadway, causing the vehicle to travel off the right side of the road.

Unfortunately, the driver of the Suzuki (Edna Mae Hammack, 78 year-old Black Diamond, Washington resident) succumbed to the injuries she sustained in the crash and was pronounced deceased at the hospital in Hawthorne at approximately 4:55 PM.
